April 25, 2008 6:53 p.m. EST Siddique Islam - AHN South Asia Correspondent New Delhi, India (AHN) - India has become the second largest wireless network in the world after China with the addition of more than 10 million wireless subscribers in March. The total number of wireless subscribers stood at 261 million at the end of March, the Indian telecommunications authority said Friday. Quoting data compiled by the International Association for the Wireless Telecommunications Industry (CTIA), the authority said India had now overtaken the United States in the number of cell phone users. The current wireless users in the U.S. are estimated to be around 258 million, according to the CTIA.
