Ed Sutherland - AHN Editor Washington, DC (AHN) - Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina is on the short list as a possible vice presidential running mate for John McCain, the probable Republican U.S. Presidential candidate for 2008, a report said Monday. According to the Wall Street Journal, Fiorina "appears on the ever-growing short list for vice president." Since being named "Victory" chair by the Republican National Committee, Fiorina has accompanied McCain on campaign stops, offering advice on ways to mesh his stance with technology. Noting her importance, as well as other technology leaders such as Cisco's John Chambers and former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, McCain has said he plans to ask them for help. Fiorina, after pushing for the 2002 merger between HP and Compaq, was sent packing in 2005 by the computer maker.
