(AHN)- Warner Bros. is launching in early August a website that will air the television programs of the defunct network, reports said Monday.

The resurrection of the TV network comes 18 months after its shut down. WB will reappear as TheWB.com initially featuring popular series it produced like "Friends", "The O.C." and "Gilmore Girls."

Dow Jones reported that Warner Brothers intends to also air youth-oriented shows like "Smallville" and a new series made for the web. Warner Bros. will also launch a youth website, KidsWB.com.

The news service quoted Bruce Rosenblum, president of Warner Bros. Television Group, as saying that the company is no longer just a television business but also is also "in the multi-platform storytelling business."
