Jan Westmark - Celebrity News Service West Palm Beach, FL (CNS) - Rapper Vanilla Ice won't be prosecuted for allegedly beating his wife, due to the fact that his wife recanted her original statement and there was a lack of an independent witness. The fight will just be chalked up to an argument. According to a Palm Beach County prosecutor, "The State declines to file criminal charges. There is insufficient credible evidence... due to the victim recanting her original statement and lack of an independent witness." Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, was arrested on April 10 at his home in Wellington, Florida, after his wife, Laura, called the police and told them that he had allegedly "struck" and "kicked" her. The rapper's attorney, Bradford M. Cohen told People.com, "It was just a verbal argument. He didn't physically harm his wife." A restraining order against the musician has also been lifted.
