Officials Lock-Down Florida Atlantic University Campus In Search Of Shooter

(AHN) - An early morning conflict at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL has resulted in a discharged firearm, one injured student, and a campus-wide search for the shooter.

FAU officials released a statement today on the school's website stating: Due to an incident during the early morning hours of Wednesday in which an individual discharged a firearm on the Boca Raton campus, the Boca Raton campus remains closed and on lock down until further notice.

The statement continues: Only Level 1 Tier 1 essential personnel are permitted on campus. All other FAU campuses are open and regular business operations and classes are taking place at those locations.

The incident happened at about 1:15am inside the University Village Apartments, a campus housing unit for FAU students.

According to campus police officers a non-student, was slightly wounded.
