May 2, 2008 12:28 p.m. EST Ed Sutherland - AHN Editor New York, NY (AHN) - Sprint Nextel Friday named Robert Brust as the wireless carrier's new finance chief. Brust, who retired from Kodak financial operations in 2007, faces release of first-quarter reports May 12. Brust replaces Paul Saleh, who was ousted as Sprint finance head in January during an executive shakeup by new CEO Dan Hesse. In January, Sprint's marketing head and president of sales and distribution left. Interim chief financial officer William Arendt will become controller. In announcing the appointment, Hesse said Brust understood how to operate in "challenging, high-tech environments," according to the Wall Street Journal. Brust isn't a stranger to Sprint. He and Sprint Nextel Chairman Tim Donahue served together on the board of Ma.-based health care firm Covidien and Donahue is a member of Eastman Kodak's board, where Brust retired from in 2007, according to Sprint.
