Baton Rouge, LA (AHN) - LSU has decided to dismiss quarterback Ryan Perrilloux from the team Friday after a series of legal and disciplinary problems that has beset his college career.

LSU coach Les Miles, who suspended Perrilloux last February days following the death of his father on Feb. 7 for missing a team meeting, skipping some class and failing to report on time for team conditioning workouts, said that the quarterback "didn't fulfill his obligation as an LSU student-athlete." Perilloux was assigned as backup to Matt Flynn for the Tigers which won the title after defeating Ohio State in the national championships.

"Ryan was given every opportunity to be a part of this football team," Miles told the Associated Press in a release Friday.

Last summer, Perriloux was also suspended by the team after being caught trying to enter a Baton Rouge casino with false identification. Later in November, he got involved in an altercation at a nightclub but was subsequently cleared of any wrongdoing.

As a condition for his reinstatement to the team, Perriloux had to comply with academic requirements and undergo extra conditioning work before being allowed to rejoin the team with full privileges on April 6, a week before spring game and in time for the Tigers' scheduled trip to Washington D.C. to meet President Bush at the White House.

Miles said that prior to Perrilloux's last reinstatement he was doing better in school without any problems regarding the player's attitude.

Perrilloux, who registered 51 complete passes out of 75 resulting in eight touchdowns in 12 games, is expected to finish the spring semester at LSU.
