May 4, 2008 9:40 a.m. EST Jojo Doria - AHN Salt Lake City, UT (AHN) - David Beckham scored Galaxy's first two goals after trailing by two as the Los Angeles Galaxy tie Real Salt Lake 2-2 Saturday at the Rice-Eccles Stadium. Galaxy's star player known for his trademark long and curving kicks, made a curving shot around the defense that went inside the far post after getting past Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando for the Galaxy's first goal in the 36th minute after being down two goals. Beckham then made another curving kick but with a lesser arc than his first, after Los Angeles got a free kick from 29 yards out in the middle of the field. Rimando failed to stop the bender as it hit the left post for the tying goal in the 40th minute. Los Angeles goalkeeper Steve Cronin contributed by preserving the draw after stopping several Real attempts and finishing with five saves. "Sometimes it works. Sometimes it [don't] doesn't. Tonight they did," Beckham told the Associated Press on his patented curving kick. Fabian Espindola and Kenny Deuchar accounted for Real Salt Lake's two goals in the first half, while goalkeeper Nick Rimando managed to save Salt Lake after allowing Beckham's two goals when he stopped a possible winning goal by Landon Donovan, a point-blank header late in the second half. The previous star of the Galaxy before Beckham arrived has registered eight goals in the five games for Los Angeles. "It was obviously my turn to score the goals tonight instead of Landon," Beckham told the AP.
