May 5, 2008 8:08 p.m. EST Anne Lu - Celebrity News Service News Writer Paris, France (CNS) - French actress Audrey Tautou has replaced statuesque actress Nicole Kidman as the new face of Chanel No. 5 fragrance. Chanel confirms Monday that Tautou, 29, will grace the fashion house's classic scent in 2009, following current ambassador Kidman's reign. She is set to reunite with director Jean-Pierre Jeunet for the new ad campaign, a short film just like her multi-award winning predecessor's ad with Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrman. The "Da Vinci Code" star and Jeunet have worked together twice before in the award-winning 2001 film "Amelie" and "The Long Engagement." Kidman's three-minute commercial for the perfume in 2004 had made her the record holder for the most money paid per minute to an actor after reportedly earning $3.71 million.
