Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - "Iron Man" star Robert Downey Jr. is set to wear his metal-clad suit again. He has signed on to reprise his role in a sequel to his on-going movie.

Marvel Studios has confirmed that the second "Iron Man" film that is scheduled to hit theaters on April 30, 2010 will still star Downey Jr.

The movie raked in over $100 million in its opening weekend and that's because of the 43-year-old actor, according to Marvel Studios head of production Kevin Feige.

BBC has quoted Feige as saying, "It's great to see a sold-out audience that you know is made up of comic book fans and people who had never read an Iron Man comic in their life."

Marvel recently announced that they are going to release more superheroes in the big screen. Starting from the Iron Man's sequel in 2010, "Thor" will also roll out on the same year on June 4. Captain America is also slated for release in 2011.

Gwyneth Paltrow also stars in the film.
