May 8, 2008 6:34 a.m. EST Jojo Doria - AHN Minneapolis, MN (AHN) - New Jersey Nets forward Richard Jefferson was arrested and charged with assault Wednesday following a choking incident in a Minneapolis hotel earlier this year. The 27-year-old forward got angry and allegedly grabbed and choked a certain Lyle Fox at a private birthday party after being asked to leave after breaking into the roped-off private affair in a club in Graves Hotel on Jan. 27, according to the police complaint. Jefferson, who was with his team during the incident, faces a fifth-degree misdemeanor assault charge. New Jersey Nets spokesman Gary Sussman gave no comment. Jefferson's agent is not available for any comment. Jefferson, the Net's leading scorer is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.
