Chicago, IL (AHN) - John Danks went five innings on two runs and six hits, and Jermaine Dye and Juan Uribe drove in back-to-back homers in the fifth inning as Chicago got past Minnesota 6-2 Thursday night at U.S. Cellular Field.

After the White Sox were torched by 13 runs in the second game one night earlier, Danks came to the rescue in the series finale, holding the Twins to just two runs. He also struck out five and finally broke for the win after dropping his last two starts.

Danks got plenty of support, with Dye hitting a homerun for the third straight time in as many games and Uribe getting an unlikely hit and RBI. Dye hit a solo shot in the fifth to finish 2-for-3 and Uribe, hitting just .191 with one home run, lofted a two-run homer in the same inning.

The White Sox, who won the three-game series 2-1, trailed early 2-0 when Matt Tolbert and Joe Mauer each drove in RBI singles in the fifth. But the home team soon chased Kevin Slowey (0-2) on long ball connections from Dye and Uribe.

Chicago (16-17) scored again in the seventh on Carlos Quentin's one-run single before Toby Hall sent Dye home with a fielder's choice RBI in the eighth. The White Sox settled the final score on Tolbert's error that allowed Joe Crede to run home.

Slowey surrendered three runs and four hits, while walking none in five innings. The Twins (17-16) had eight hits, with Mauer and Delmon Young finishing with three each.

The White Sox head west to Seattle for a three-game set this weekend while the Twins, who maintained a two-game lead in the AL Central, face Boston at the Metrodome for a four-game series beginning Friday.
