Anne Lu - Celebrity News Service News Writer Bristol, CT (CNS) - Coldplay is set to promote soccer in the U.S. The British rockers have been asked by sports network ESPN to lend its music in commercials for their live coverage of European Championship. The sports cable channel will use Coldplay's music for their commercials teasing the tournament, which would be taking place on June 7 to 29 in Austria and Switzerland. They will add the band's "Viva la Vida" in the ads and during in-studio and game production. ESPN Senior Director of Sports Marketing Seth Ader said in a statement, "This is the first time ESPN has created a global marketing campaign with a unified strategy, message and advertising campaign." "The campaign captures the passion for European soccer."
