May 9, 2008 12:29 p.m. EST Jojo Doria - AHN Salt Lake City, UT (AHN) - Utah Jazz owner Larry Miller says he will not attend Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals as it falls on a Sunday. Miller, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, says that non-religious activities are discouraged on Sundays and that the Lakers-Jazz game falls on a Sunday. It will be the first Sunday home game for the Jazz since the 2001 playoffs Miller likewise said that he won't be able to monitor the game on TV or thru radio but will have to rely on his wife who might watch the game to give him updates as he takes a long drive, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. Miller, owner of a number of automobile dealerships in Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico, became co-owner of the Utah Jazz franchise after acquiring 50 percent of the team's interest on April 11, 1985 for $9.5 million. He later purchased the remaining 50 percent the following year from Sam Battistone for the amount of $17.3 million. Miller is also the owner of the Salt Lake Golden Eagles ice hockey team.
