May 9, 2008 3:05 p.m. EST Linda Young - AHN Editor Baghdad, Iraq (AHN) - Being near the Unites States Green Zone proved a disadvantage for the local BBC office in central Baghdad when a rocket fell short of its target and landed on the news agencies office Friday. The rocket struck the roof of the building at midafternoon, causing some structural damage but no one was injured, according to AFP reports. Shiite militants had taken advantage of the cover of a sandstorm to launch rockets at the fortified Green Zone, but several fell short, including the one that hit the BBC office, the AP reports. The Green Zone contains the U.S. Embassy as well as the Iraqi government and officials there reportedly did not confirm any strikes within the compound.
