May 9, 2008 6:11 p.m. EST Jan Westmark - Celebrity News Service Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Joaquin Phoenix learned to play the guitar for his role as Johnny Cash in the 2005 movie "Walk The Line." He earned an Oscar nod for the role and at the same time discovered that he loved to make music. According to People.com, the actor has recently been cutting an album with U.K. band The Charlatans. "Once he learned guitar he found that he had quite a lot of demons inside himself that he wanted to expel through music," the band's frontman, Tim Burgess, told Billboard. Phoenix hasn't put out any brilliant tracks yet, however. According to Burgess the actor keeps scrapping everything or re-doing everything, even though Burgess refers to the tracks as "brilliant." The album does not have a release date, but Burgess said he was trying to get Charlatan manager Alan McGee to put it out.
