Clay Aiken Ends Role In "Spamalot"

New York, NY (CNS) - Former "American Idol" runner-up Clay Aiken recently ended his starring role in the Broadway show "Spamalot" as Sir Robin. The show is a Tony Award-winning musical.

Robert Petkoff has replaced Aiken as Sir Robin. Petkoff performed the same role in the national tour of "Spamalot."

Petkoff's Broadway credits include "Fiddler on the Roof" with Alfred Molina and "Epic Proportions." He appeared with Judi Dench in the West End production of "The Royal Family," as well as in the off-Broadway production of "More Stately Mansions."

"Spamalot" won four Tony Awards in 2005, including Best Musical and Best Director, for Mike Nichols. It also earned the 2005 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical, and the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Musical.
