Preciosa Dumlao - AHN News Writer Beijing, China (AHN) - At least 107 were confirmed dead and more than 900 school children were reported to have been buried after a powerful earthquake struck southwestern China on Monday afternoon, state media news agency reported. According to the official Xinhua news agency, Chinese President Hu Jintao urged the people of China for an "all out support" to victims especially those children who were buried. Premier Wen Jiabao had traveled to Sichuan province to see the scope of the damage in the southwest China. Officials said the deadly quake was felt in as far as Bangkok, Thailand's capital city, Hong Kong, Hanoi and Taipei but there was no immediate report of death or casualty in the area.
