May 12, 2008 9:51 p.m. EST Shannon Moore - Celebrity News Service Hollywood, CA (CNS) - Actress Jennie Garth has finally confirmed the rumors that she will be joining the cast in the spinoff series of "Beverly Hills 90210" after months of speculation and rumors. Garth fueled the rumors when she recently and abruptly quit her current series "My Best Friend's Girl." Garth was slated to star in the pilot for the comedy series, but quit at the last minute, forcing producers to replace her with actress Kristen Booth. Garth is the first original cast member to be signed on to the new series, though other former cast mates have spoken out about their interest in the remake. Both Ian Ziering and Tori Spelling have stated publicly that they would like to be included in the project. Garth will appear in the series as her former character, Kelly Taylor, and will play a high school guidance counselor at her former alma mater, West Beverly High. The series will air on the CW.
