Cupertino, CA (AHN) - Apple will reportedly announce a deal with Home Box Office, selling episodes of popular television shows on iTunes for more than the usual $1.99 per download.

According to the New York Times and paidcontent.org, Apple will offer full seasons of shows including "Sex in the City" and "The Sapranos." However, Apple will not sell the episodes until season DVDs are released.

HBO rival Showtime has sold episodes through iTunes for two years.

The reported agreement follows the decision by NBC Universal to walk away from iTunes distribution after a dispute with Apple over pricing. Today's announcement could cause other media companies to rethink their pricing arrangements with iTunes, the New York Times reports.
