Pete Doherty Denies Cheating Drug Tests In Prison

London, England (CNS) - Pete Doherty has come clean about his drug tests, saying he had cheated before but not during his incarceration, as contrary to rumors.
The Babyshambles rocker admits he had cheated drug tests before he was jailed on April 8. However, he insists he did not cheat the tests while he was in jail. He received his drug-free certificate legitimately.
Doherty, 29, tells NME.com, "I was pretty much back into the [heroin] cycle. I was banging it. The only time I tested clean was when I used someone else's piss. It was a fair cop [going to jail for breaching probation], really."
He says he was on a drug treatment program in prison. He had received a heroin replacement drug Sebutex, but he stopped on taking it two and a half weeks before his release.
He also denies reports that he took heroin inside the prison and that he had completely stopped using drugs.
He adds, "I can't go back to that [using drugs]. I don't think I've ever been healthier."
