May 14, 2008 8:24 p.m. EST Anne Lu - Celebrity News Service News Writer Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Proving chick flicks sell on DVDs, Hilary Swank's "P.S. I Love You" has topped the national video sales and rental charts in its first week in stores. The two-time Oscar Award-winning actress' 2007 film beat out last week's number one "27 Dresses" on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart and Home Media Magazine's rental chart. Comedy film "First Sunday" settled in at number 3 in its debut week on both charts while the fantasy film "The Golden Compass" lands in the fourth place. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, "P.S. I Love You," which sold almost twice as many copies as Ice Cube's comedy in their first week, generated an estimated $7.2 million in revenue, compared with $5.6 million for "First Sunday." However, on the Blu-ray Disc section, "Twister" tops the release charts of the week followed by "Golden Compass" and "P.S. I Love You" at number 2 and 3 respectively.
