Brooklyn, CT (AHN) - A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after firing an AK-47 assault rifle at a group of people at a basketball court here.

No one was hurt when the attacker, whose name was withheld, fired the rifle belonging to his father after arguing Tuesday with the players in the court behind the Our Lady of Lasalette Church.

State troopers who responded to frantic 911 calls of the players told WFSB.com that the shooter bragged about having an AK-47 after the argument, left the court, returned 10 minutes later dressed in black, and then opened fire 20 yards away from the court.

The players rushed and subdued him, and disarmed him.

The boy was arraigned on Wednesday with bail set at $250,000. His parents claimed their son was autistic and short tempered.
