May 15, 2008 1:58 p.m. EST Ed Sutherland - AHN Editor San Antonio, Texas (AHN) - AT&T, the exclusive carrier for Apple's iPhone, has begun a policy limiting purchases of the combination handset and media player to one per customer. The edict, reported Wednesday, follows word by Apple the iPhone is no longer available online. "Effective immediately, customers can only purchase one iPhone device," reads the AT&T memo entitled "Urgent Breaking News" and first reported by the Boy Genius Report blog. Earlier this week, Apple confirmed speculation iPhones were becoming unavailable. Next month, Apple CEO Steve Jobs is expected to talk to developers where he may announce a new version of the iPhone sporting support for faster 3G networks.
