Jojo Doria - AHN Fort Benning, GA (AHN) - American shooter Libby Callahan finished second in the U.S. Olympic trials to capture a slot Thursday in the U.S. Olympic team headed for Beijing this August, for her fourth Olympic stint. The 56-year-old Callahan landed a spot in the U.S. Shooting team following a second finish in the sport pistol competition at the U.S. shooting trials. According to the USA Shooting and the U.S. Olympic Committee, the oldest known American woman to compete in the Summer Olympics is equestrian Kyra Dowton at age 55. Dowton competed in the 1968 Olympic Games held in Mexico City. Jason Turner and Daryl Szarenski will also join the team after doing well in free pistol, while Beki Snyder took the sport pistol event. Turner and Snyder have earlier secured spots in the air pistol event in March, while Brian Beaman and Brenda Shinn were given slots in the U.
