NFL Officials Probe Steroid Dealer's Alleged Football Customers

Culver City, CA (AHN) -- It was only a matter of time before Mitchell Report sentiments spilled over into the NFL, as the NFL has recently heightened its search to rout out steroid users. The search lead to a steroid dealer in Texas, who has allegedly done business with some NFL players.

After his arrest, the dealer - David Jacobs - spilled the beans, claiming he provided two NFL players with steroids, and provided other illegal contraband for many others.

Jacobs reportedly ran a steroid ring down in Texas, along with seven other co-distributors who were arrested along with him. Him, along with Amber Jarrell and Matt Williams, two of his associates, were fined and put on probation.

The New York Times reported that - within 24 hours - NFL investigators were knocking on Jacobs' door, getting to the bottom of what he knew.

"They wanted to know what information I had and what other documentary evidence I could provide them with," Jacobs told the Times. "I told them I was not going to talk specifics without my lawyer present. They wanted to know a list of players I dealt with and knew, and I told them I didn't feel comfortable doing that."

One of the players fingered by Jacobs was offensive lineman Matt Lehr of the New Orleans Saints. Lehr's lawyer claimed this to be a lie, as the allegation came out allegedly after Jacobs tried to solicit legal fees from Lehr, for reasons that are yet unknown.
