May 16, 2008 10:45 p.m. EST Matt Aug - AHN Sports Reporter Chicago, IL. (AHN) - Home is where the homers are for the Chicago Cubs, who blasted three round-trippers, including a pair from Alfonso Soriano, in toppling the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-4 Friday afternoon. Soriano was smokin' from the outset, belting both home runs in the first two innings, helping the Cubs forge a 6-0 lead. "A month ago I didn't trust my hands," Soriano told mlb.com of his early-season slump. "Now, I trust my hands. I stay back a little more and see the ball better. That is what I am doing now." The Cubs also got home runs from Geovany Soto and Mark DeRosa, while pitcher Sean Gallagher notched his first win of the season on the hill. Chicago did its damage off Pirates starter Tom Gorzelanny, who was easily outdueled by Gallagher. The Cubs have chalked up a 7-1 record with weekend games remaining vs. the Pirates.
