May 18, 2008 11:24 a.m. EST Jojo Doria - AHN Cleveland, OH (AHN) - Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Ryan Tucker, who injured his hip Wednesday, underwent a successful hip surgery on Friday, according to the team's announcement Saturday. The 6-6, 320-pound lineman underwent a procedure performed by Dr. Anthony Miniaci at The Cleveland Clinic to repair a non displaced fracture in his hip and is expected to be ready at the start of the regular season. The 32-year-old Tucker left after injuring his hip during the team's first day of organized team activities on Wednesday. The 12-year NFL veteran is expected to miss training camp but will be ready in Cleveland's opener on Sept. 7 when they host the Dallas Cowboys. Tucker, who won a Super Bowl ring with the St. Louis Rams before joining the Browns as a free agent in 2002, was suspended for violating the NFL's policy on anabolic steroids and related substance. He later acknowledged taking the substance but only due to a "down and out" mental disorder. After the suspension, Tucker was moved from tackle position to guard spot. He then replaced injured Seth McKinney. Tucker has appeared in 133 games and had 101 starts in over 11 seasons in the NFL.
