Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Scooby Doo is looking for a new gang to drive the Mystery Machine. Warner Bros has arranged a new casting call to find new casts for an upcoming "Scooby Doo" film.

Director Brian Levant has signed on to direct a new live action film that will serve as a prequel to the two "Scooby Doo" movies of previous years.

A new casting call would mean Sarah Michelle Gellar and husband Freddie Prinze Jr. are out, and so are the rest of the gang, Matthew Lillard and Linda Cardellini.

Moviehole.net reports that the new plot would take place at the time when Mystery Inc. is still developing.

Daphne is a mystery writer, Fred is a football player who decides to try out for the school paper, Shaggy is, of course, still not doing well at school, and Velma, who reportedly might be Asian in the new flick, is a teen U.S. ambassador for World Hunger. They all applied for jobs at the school paper and ended up solving their first mystery.

Productions are scheduled to kick off in August.
