May 21, 2008 12:52 a.m. EST Benjie Telleron - AHN News Writer New York, NY (AHN) - A restaurant in Manhattan is challenging the economic downturn by offering a $175 burger with gold toppings. And Heather Tierney, one of the burger stand's co-owners, says sales are brisk. The Wall Street Burger Shoppe says the expensive burger, which Tierney describes as a "work of art," contains Kobe beef topped with gold flakes, black truffles, a thick slab of seared foie gras and aged Gruyere cheese. Tierney says the burger is popular among Wall Street types who usually order it to show off in front of friends and down it with a few bottles of beer.
