May 26, 2008 8:44 p.m. EST Jan Westmark - Celebrity News Service New Haven, CT (CNS) - Former Beatle Paul McCartney has a list of awards to his name, including being knighted by the Queen of England in 1996, and now he can add another. McCartney was awarded with an honorary Doctor of Music degree on Monday from Yale University. The university claims that no one compares with the former Beatle, who as a legendary songwriter, has opened the eyes of an entire generation with his brand of rock, roll, rhythm and blues. McCartney, who is 65, now holds the title of Sir Paul McCartney since receiving his knighthood. Yale also conferred honorary degrees on former U.S. Trade Representative Carla Hills, astronomer Martin Rees, architect Cesar Pelli, poet John Lawrence Ashbery and others.
