Washington, D.C. (AHN) - A new CBS poll has found that President George Bush's approval rating has reached a record low of 25%.

The poll, released on Thursday, also said the President's overall disapproval rating was at 67%, one of the lowest for any president. Last month, Gallup said that President Bush had broken the record for the highest disapproval rating in its polling history at 69%, or two points above the record long-held by Harry Truman.

The economy was the most pressing concern among Americans, CBS said. Thirty-four percent of those surveyed cited it as the primary issue facing the nation. Rising energy prices was the second concern, worrying 16% of Americans. These were followed by the Iraq war, with 15%, and healthcare, 4%.

More significant perhaps is that CBS received the highest percentage - 83% - of people who think "the country is on the wrong track" since it began asking the question 25 years ago.
