June 10, 2008 8:58 p.m. EST Jennifer Tormo - Celebrity News Service Entertainment Intern Hollywood, CA (CNS) - Journey's new release, "Revelation," has sold more than 104,000 copies in its first week, according to Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. The three-disc CD/DVD release is a Wal-Mart exclusive. The release marks the band's highest first-week sales since they released "Trial by Fire" in 1996 and a 1,400 percent increase over the first-week sales of the band's 2005 release, "Generations," according to a press release. "We are thrilled with the early success of Journey's 'Revelation' music project, and clearly our Customer is excited about it too," said divisional merchandise manager of entertainment for Wal-Mart, Jeff Maas. So far the release has received good reviews, "...the band seems to have taken rock vitamins: it feels alive," said a New York Times reviewer. The first disc in the package has 11 new songs from the band. The second disc features 11 re-recorded hits, and the third is a DVD of the band live in-concert. The success of the band's release is a success for Wal-Mart, also. "Journey was great to work with and clearly this reflects a win for them and for our Customer; customers are voting with their purchase that they are excited too about the package and the album's value," said Maas. Journey is currently touring in Europe and will start their U.S. tour July 9.
