Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Funnyman Jack Black has backed out of a supernatural comedy that he had agreed to star in last year, Warner Bros. has confirmed.

"Man-Witch" was scheduled to begin shooting in January with the 38-year-old actor. No reason was given for his withdrawal.

The film focuses on a man who learns he's a witch. He then goes off to teach at an exclusive all-girls witch school a la Hogwarts.

Black is currently starring in the animated flick "Kung-Fu Panda," in which he gave voice to the titular character. It grossed $60 million at its opening weekend. He is also set to star in "Tropic Thunder," with Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr.
