Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Tiger Woods had a Father's Day fit for a winner. Not only did he tie with Rocco Mediate on Sunday in the U.S. Open, but his wife and daughter were on hand for the event.

Woods went on to win the U.S. Open the following day on the nineteenth hole of a sudden death playoff. According to Woods, the win was made that much better by having his almost-one-year-old daughter at the Open.

His daughter, Sam, who turns one on Wednesday, made her first appearance at the Open, along with mom Elin. "There's no way I could have gotten through this without Sam being there ... just watching her grow, walking, running now, it's been just the greatest thing in the world."

Woods has been plagued with knee trouble over the last few months. He also hadn't won the Open since 2002, when his father was still alive.
