June 18, 2008 7:32 a.m. EST Jupiter Kalambakal - AHN News Writer Burlingame, CA (AHN) - Internet company Yahoo! experiences more staff exits as founders of media hosting website Flickr announced that they are leaving the company. The co-founders, husband and wife team Caterina Fake and Stewart Butterfield announced their planned departure, deflating expectations of a Yahoo!-Flickr partnership becoming a good sign of the former's corporate future. While Fake officially exited the company Friday, Butterfield will stay onboard until July 12, to be replaced by product management director Kakul Srivastava, according to TechCrunch. Srivastava's former role will be filled by Sara Wood. The Flickr founders' departure follows suit with that of many of Yahoo!'s top executives, right after the fallout of a potential $47.5 billion acquisition deal with rival Microsoft. Fake and Butterfield's exit follows that of Jeff Weiner, Yahoo!'s executive VP for web properties. Weiner will be heading for Accel Partners and Greylock Partners, where he will take on the role of resident entrepreneur, reported Forbes.
