Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi Set Wedding Date

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - The wedding date is set for couple Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. The talk show host has given her girlfriend a ring to mark their engagement.

The 50-year-old Outstanding Talk Show Host of the Daytime Emmy told reporters outside the awards show, "Yes, we have set a wedding date."

De Rossi, who starred in the former hit series "Ally McBeal," wore her Neil Lane ring on her wedding finger. The band boasts a marquis cut diamond set with pink diamonds.

DeGeneres also revealed that they are currently planning their "dream wedding" but refused to divulge major details. She, however, said that she would air a part of the ceremony on her show.

She said, "Planning a wedding is very stressful. It is crazy. My gardener is now invited."

DeGeneres started dating De Rossi, 35, in December of 2004.

She added, "I can't wait to be married. I feel like it is long overdue. And I think someday people will look back on this like women not having the right to vote and segregation and anything else that seems ridiculous like we all don't have the same rights."
