Teen Mom Who Killed Newborn Faces Capital Murder Charge

Baytown, Texas (AHN) - Police here have arrested a 14-year-old girl and charged her with capital murder for the killing of her own baby.

The girl, whose name was withheld because she is a minor, secretly gave birth to a seven-pound boy in a bathroom of Cedar Bayou Junior High on April 2, stuffed the baby's mouth with toilet paper and then submerged him in a toilet, according to Baytown Police Capt. Roger Clifford.

An autopsy of the victim also indicated he suffered from blunt trauma to the head and neck. The death was ruled a homicide.

The girl's attorney told Dallasnews.com she did not know she was giving birth.
