Windsor Genova - AHN News Writer Randolph, VT (AHN) - Police in Vermont continued searching Friday for a 12-year-old girl from Braintree missing since Wednesday in the state's first Amber Alert case. The search for Brooke Bennett, who was believed to have secretly met with a stranger she met online, widened to include Sunset Lake in the town of Brookfield, where clothing similar to what she was wearing was found Thursday. Divers were scheduled Friday to search the lake while search and rescue teams with sniffing dogs continued to scour Brookfield. Meanwhile, the state's Computer Crime Unit is examining Brooke's computer for information about the alleged online friend she met before her family reported her missing on Wednesday. Brooke's uncle dropped her at a Cumblerand Farms convenience store here Wednesday morning. She was supposed to be picked up by a female friend to visit the friend's relative at a hospital in New Hamshire, according to the local police. The store's camera, however, showed she walked away from the store going towards the village of Randolph.
