GE Names New Head For Aviation Unit

Fairfield, CT (AHN) - General Electric announced Monday that its vice president of commercial engines, David Joyce, will now assume the role of president and chief executive of GE Aviation.
The move comes after former head of GE Aviation, Scott Donnelly took the role of chief operating officer at Textron Inc.
David Joyce has been with the GE Aviation unit for 28 years.
"David has broad experience across the business, from engineering and product design to customer service, giving him keen insight into how to continue Aviation's global growth," said General Electric Chief Executive Jeff Immelt, according to Dow Jones Newswire.
The GE Aviation unit had sales of $16.8 billion last year, roughly 10 percent of General Electrics total revenue.
Shares of GE are currently 1.5 percent higher in Monday trading.
