London, England (CNS) - Kim Cattrall went on a shopping trip in Harrods that would have made her "Sex and the City" alter-ego Samantha Jones quite proud. Cattrall opened the summer sale at Harrods.
In keeping with tradition that a female celebrity open the summer sale, Cattrall arrived at the Knightsbridge store in a horse-drawn carriage. The actress was given a personal tour of the luxury store by owner Mohamed al Fayed.
Cattrall, wearing a cream dress and strappy shoes by Givenchy, worn with a Dries Van Noten jacket, tried on watches and jewelry and even visited the pet department where she cuddled with some puppies.
Although she is considered an American actress, Cattrall is British-born. She spent the first three years of her life in Liverpool before her family immigrated to Canada. She regards Britain as her second home.
She told Britain's Telegraph, "I've been a faithful Harrods shopper since I got my first credit card. As a Brit, it's a real thrill for me to open the sale at one of the UK's national institutions. I was so delighted that they asked me to participate."
Other celebrities who have opened Harrods sales in the past include Eva Longoria, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kelly Brook and Lily Allen.
