Nashville, TN (CNS) - She may not have won the recent "American Idol," but that's not stopping seventh-placer Kristy Lee Cook from landing herself a record deal.
Cook, whose shares her last name with the year's champ David, has signed on with 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville for country album. Her first single "15 Minutes of Shame" is scheduled to be released on August 11.
The newly-engaged 24-year-old Oregon native, who sold her "really good" barrel horse to be able to enter the hit reality contest, will be recording the yet untitled album while on the road with the other Idol finalists on their "Idols Live!" tour.
This is her second signing with the label. She was signed on before when she was a teen but she was dropped before she was able to record.
Her album is scheduled for a fall release.
