July 4, 2008 4:56 p.m. EST Matt Aug - AHN Sports Reporter Green Bay, WI. (AHN) - How can we miss Brett Favre if he won't go away? That is the question some of the Green Bay Packers must be thinking in light of recent comments from his family that the quarterbacking great may not yet be ready to hang up his cleats. Aaron Rodgers, set to take over behind center for Favre, must surely be thinking that way after waiting several seasons to take the reigns. The Favre to unretire rumors heated up again earlier this week when two Milwaukee television stations talked to some members of his family about his situation. "I don't see why not," Scott Favre told WTMJ-TV this week about his brother possibly extending his career. "I'm sure plenty of other teams would want him. If the Packers decide it's time to move on, it's time for Brett to move on, if that's the case." Favre's mother said her famous son feels like he may have something to prove to an organization that may not have fully appreciated him. "He felt like that the last couple of years, that the Packers didn't really want him back," Bonita Favre told WITI-TV. ". . . You know, it's just been bits and pieces throughout the last couple of years, things would come up, and it just didn't seem like they went out of their way to keep him. It was kind of like, 'You're done.' " Favre wasn't ready for the recliner last season, completing a career-best 66.5 percent of his passes for 4,155 yards and 28 touchdowns to just 15 interceptions. In fact, the 38-year-old's stats were considerably better than the previous season when he completed about 10 percent less of his passes and tossed just 18 touchdowns to 18 interceptions. The only blemish on the Packers season, though it was a considerable one, was the team's failure to knock off the eventual Super Bowl champion Giants in the NFC title game at Lambeau Field.
