San'a, Yemen (AHN) - At least five people are dead in an explosion in northwest Yemen, according to the reports.

The blast reportedly took place in a local post office in central Saada, a town in north western region of the country, according to local news reports.

The number of people injured in the blast and the reason behind the explosion is still not known.

Rescue workers began evacuating after the bomb struck in the area, and security forces sealed off the site, a witness said.

Saada is the province, a region in mountains on the border with Saudi Arabia, where random battle have been reported between Shia rebels and the government security forces.

Zaidi Shiite rebels started a revolt in the region about four years ago that killed thousands of people and injured several others.

Around 12 months ago, both sides had agreed to ceasefire but the Qatari-brokered peace deal was broken and the two sides started fighting again at the start of this year.
