London, England (AHN) - Venus Williams powered her way to a historic fifth title in Wimbledon after beating her sister, Serena in straight sets in the final at the All England Club Saturday.

The 28-year-old Venus, who lost to Serena in the Wimbledon finals of 2002 and 2003, battled from a shaky start 4-2 before taking the set and the game 7-5, 6-4 on Center Court at Wimbledon Saturday for a fifth All-England title.

Serena, who had won five of her previous six Grand Slam finals against her older sister, seemed to find her form after converting her seventh break point in the third game of the second.

But the defending champion immediately countered to level before allowing Serena serving at 4-5.

The younger Williams, however, managed to produce an ace to save the first one but not on the second after countering a backhand wide eventually handing the game to Venus.

Venus becomes one of only four players to win the trophy five times in the Open era.
