Dodgers' Doubles Key 10-7 Win Vs. Giants

San Francisco, CA. (AHN) - The Los Angeles Dodgers "doubled" their pleasure, using three straight run-scoring doubles in the sixth inning to topple the San Francisco Giants 10-7 Friday night.

Andre Ethier, Russell Martin and Jeff Kent each drove in runs with two-baggers to help the Dodgers score five runs in the frame, which the Giants could not overcome.

Osiris Matos took a shellacking from the Dodgers, allowing four hits and five runs in just 2/3 of an inning to take the loss.

Matos followed up Jonathan Sanchez, who performed fairly well in allowing five hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in the opening five frames but was lifted after 110 pitches.

Sanchez' line may have been more impressive than Dodgers starter Derek Lowe (6-8), who got the win despite allowing eight his and five run over five innings.

San Francisco (38-49) blew a pair of leads, going ahead 2-0 in the first on an Aaron Rowand single and a Randy Winn bunt single that scored Ray Durham.

The Dodgers (42-44) tied it up in the third on bases-loaded walks by Martin and Nomar Garciaparra.

Fred Lewis put the Giants back up with an exciting steal of home, his 16th swipe of the season, and Rowand knocked in Winn with a ground-rule double.

Bengie Molina had an RBI single and later scored on Rich Aurilia's double-play ball to close the gap to 9-7 in the eighth.

The Dodgers got an insurance run back on Adam LaRoche's ninth inning homer off Brian Wilson and Takashi Saito shut down the Giants in the bottom half for his 15th save.
