Matthew Harvey - AHN Sports Reporter New York, NY (AHN) -- It's that time again. The time where old rivalries are put aside in the interests of giving baseball fans one game where the best of the best take the diamond, and show all of us how this game is really played. The Cubbies will be heavily represented this year, as their dominating standing in the National League has held up for months. 3 starters have been picked from them, out of 8 players. Likewise, a solid quarter of the pitchers throwing the All-Star game are drawn from the Cubs roster and bullpen. Leading in expertise will be Alfonso Soriano, whose ten year legacy has placed him in the All-Star game 7 times. Arguably the best all round threat in the National League, with a .282 career batting average, 236 stolen bases, 256 home runs and 670 RBIs, his spot in the Hall of Fame is most likely assured. His performance in clutch situations is nothing short of remarkable. Five more contenders remain to be chosen, as the Monster All-Star Final Vote will determine who gets the preverbal wild card - chosen by the fans, to play for the fans. The choices are Pat Burrell, Phi, Corey Hart, Mil, Carlos Lee, HOU, Aaron Rowand, SF, and David Wright, NYM. The following are the National League elected starters, and their teams.
