Ed Sutherland - AHN Editor Sunnyvale, CA (AHN) - Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang Wednesday called Microsoft a distabilizing force after the software giant said earlier this week it might resume negotiations if a new board was elected at the upcoming Aug. 1 annual company meeting. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Yang said he could not understand why Microsoft wouldn't return to the bargaining table. Billionaire investor Carl Icahn has said the software giant has expressed interest in a transaction involving Yahoo, if the activist wins his bid to unseat the Internet company's board. The charges and counter charges come as each side attempts to convince investors which party is best capable of running Yahoo. Yang told the newspaper Icahn cannot be trusted. Icahn, in a letter to Yahoo investors, said Yang would derail any future deal with Microsoft.
