Ontario, Canada (CNS) - Van Halen lead singer David Lee Roth has denied the circulating rumors that he almost died after eating peanuts while driving in Canada.

The reports claimed that Diamond Dave was in Ontario when he was pulled over for speeding on May 23. The officers allegedly said that he was suffering from an allergic reaction and an ambulance was immediately called.

Roth dismisses the vicious gossips and released a statement through his rep saying, "I was in Canada only from July first through the fourth for a performance at the Quebex City Summer Festival. I had no encounters or incidents with the police. The only thing I'm allergic to is criticism. - Love, Dave"
