Jan Westmark - Celebrity News Service New York, NY (CNS) - Heath Ledger's family attended Monday's "The Dark Knight" premiere in New York, Heath's last film in which he played The Joker in the Batman series. After watching the movie, Heath's father left the theater and gave a thumbs-up sign. The family flew in from Australia, to honor their late son. Although they all bypassed the red carpet, Heath's father, Kim, told reporters on exiting the theater that if felt "very good." Kim Ledger and his wife Ines, Heath's stepmother, attending the premiere as did Heath's mother Sally Bell and her husband, and Heath's older sister, Kate. Heath's costars also took time to pay tribute to the actor who died of an accidental prescription drug overdose on January 22. "Working with Heath was fantastic," said Christian Bale, who plays Batman again. "He steals the movie and I'm quite happy to say that. He's a hell of a talent and created a joker that's very iconic and one that will become a classic portrayal of the ages." The movie opens July 18.
